Hidayet Türkoğlu: "Thanks to FIBA windows, fans can watch their national teams live several times a year"
Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) President Hidayet Türkoğlu spoke about national team windows. Stating that fans have the opportunity to watch their national teams live several times a year thanks to the national team windows implemented by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Türkoğlu said that they will continue to work with FIBA and made evaluations on many issues from the structural problems of European basketball to economic sustainability.
Emphasizing the past, present and what sports need to transform to remain competitive in a rapidly globalizing game, Hidayet Türkoğlu said, "It's not just about the 2024 Olympics. We aim to move towards the 2025 European Championship and even 2028. We always look for investments that add value."
Stating that they are in an era where success requires careful planning, Türkoğlu said, "If an organization loses 200 million Euros in 5 years, you should ask whether the structure is reasonable."
"We are in a transition period in our national team," said Türkoğlu, adding that it is necessary to go beyond short-term goals and focus on long-term development.
